G&T PEEL™

G&T Peel™- Exfoliating Peels

The G&T Peels™are highly advanced because not only do they contain high levels of gylcolic acid, but they also contain taurine to make them more comfortable for you. Taurine is an amino acid that helps to mitigate the potential negative effects of a glycolic peel, such as redness and irritation, without impacting on the positive work that the glycolic acid is doing.

Time: approx. 20 mins – Price : from £ 90

Your Skin – When looked after, your skin is beautiful. It’s what others use to form an opinion of your age and well-being, and as a result, can give you great self-confidence. It’s also your primary barrier against external challenges, so it’s important that you take good care of it for your health as well as your appearance.

It’s no wonder, in that case, that ageing and problem skin conditions such as pigmentation and acne often have a significant impact on confidence – particularly when skin on the face and neck are affected.

Alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) peels increase exfoliation giving outstanding results in skin rejuvenation and problem skin resolution, without the inconvenience of downtime, and with the reassurance of an excellent safety profile.
How do AHA Peels Work? – Glycolic acid is the most effective, clinically-proven AHA. It has several effects on the skin that can help to rejuvenate it, awakening the complexion and leaving skin soft with a more youthful appearance. Glycolic acid can also help to address more specific skin conditions such as pigmentation and acne by clearing and closing pores, and improving the appearance of spots and reducing the amount of melanin in skin cells; melanin is what darkens the skin, so any reduction in its presence will help to lighten darker areas.

The G&T Peels™ are highly advanced because not only do they contain high levels of glycolic acid, but they also contain taurine to make them more comfortable for you. Taurine is an amino acid that helps to mitigate the potential negative effects of a glycolic peel, such as redness and irritation, without impacting on the positive work that the glycolic acid is doing.

The Procedure – Your practitioner will decide on the best course of treatment depending on the condition of your skin, but in-clinic peels are usually offered as a course, building in intensity towards the end. An exfoliating gel of a lower concentration for use at home should be used before the first in-clinic peel to prepare the skin. This gel should then be used throughout the course as advised by your practitioner to enhance overall results.

Each in-clinic peel will take approximately 20 minutes and you may feel some discomfort during the first few minutes while the peel takes effect.

After the treatment your skin may be a little red, but this will subside quickly. During the following days you may find that your skin feels dryer and begins to exfoliate. It’s important to wear high-level UV protection throughout your course of peels – we recommend a product from the Heliocare® range which provides broad-spectrum SPF50 protection as a minimum, as well as powerful anti-oxidants.

Post-Treatment Information – Your dedicated and fully trained G&T Peel Therapist will provide full details of how to care for your skin after and between peel procedures. We highly recommend the use of some specific home use products during your course of treatments, to help the skin recover and prepare for your next treatment. Packages of these products will be discussed with you before your first peel. You will also receive a written guide to caring for your skin after a peel procedure. And of course our therapists are available to support you during your peel course.

Who is the G&T Peel™ suitable for? – Your Therapist can assess your skin condition and discuss your skin care goals before your treatment. In general, our exfoliating peels are suitable for anyone wishing to treat conditions such as: Premature Ageing, Sun Damage and Hyper-pigmentation, Acne and Acne-Scaring, general skin brightening and evening of skin tone and condition.
